Your yoga journey - embrace the parampara

Knowledge transfer happened from teacher to student, in a personal setting, based on the student's ability to grasp and the teacher's ability to deliver.

Parampara is a Sanskrit word that refers to the succession of knowledge from one guru to the next. Directly translated to English, parampara means something like "uninterrupted series," "continuation," or "succession."

Your biography and biology are not the same as the next person - so your yoga should also not be the same as the next person. Your yoga practice is totally based on what your body is capable of doing, and what your mind is yearning for.

  •  You don't need to be intimidated in a group setting

  •  You don't need to feel the urge to do more than you should

  •  You don't need to do something that your body is asking you not to do

Let's start that journey, keeping up the parampara

Yoga with Suma is beyond the body. She teaches with compassion and care. Her healing has helped me with my digestive issues, herniated disc pain and neck pain. Her philosophical background helps to imbibe yoga in its true spirit - to get introverted and mindful. Many thanks Suma.

Couples Yoga

Suma is extremely knowledgeable on all things yoga, and puts in a lot of thought and effort in getting someone started on the yoga journey and cater the program to one's specific needs. I was especially interested in posture correction, and to support my participation of my upcoming marathon. I am happy to report that both worked out superbly. I felt great at the end of every session, and after my long runs sought out a session to relieve the cramps and put in the stretches for quick recovery. I even employed her techniques on the day of the marathon to warm up and then to relieve myself of the inevitable cramping at the end of the race. I will recommend Wellness with Suma emphatically to anyone hoping and planning to start practicing yoga.      F Syed

Suma is an amazing, certified yoga teacher. Her personalized attention goes beyond her private classes into her group classes as well. Her cozy yoga studio filled with plenty of natural light and aromas of essential oils is just a perfect setting for yoga practice. I adore her teaching style and the way she structures her lessons. Her clear instructions guide you right into the pose. Her customized build up to yoga poses and wind downs is what makes me keep going back to her. I would highly recommend her.  M Syed

I thoroughly enjoy these classes w Suma. She is an extremely knowledgeable but a very patient teacher that puts together sessions that are incrementally challenging; I have enjoyed gradually building up my flexibility to get into difficult postures. I very highly recommend Suma’s yoga classes for all ages and physical fitness levels.

I did a series of beginner classes with Suma in November-December. I really loved it. She has put a lot of work into making her
studio a beautiful place to practice yoga.
We had a small class which is a huge advantage. Suma was always right there to correct our posture in the various poses.
I highly recommend that you give Suma’s classes a try. She can tailor a class to your specific needs. Just communicate your
concerns with any health issues and what you would like to achieve. The classes were transformative experiences.

Suma's yoga class is nothing but AMAZING! I had little to none experience practicing yoga and Suma has taught me so many things already! This is not only a yoga class like any other, it is a time to connect with our bodies, minds and our surroundings.  I have a full hip replacement and Suma always makes sure I have ways to make adjustments so that I am able to get the full effect of the pose while being safe and comfortable. Sum is extremely knowledgeable and empathetic, and my favorite, wonderfully down-to-earth teacher.
