Have questions? Here are the answers
Who is this program for? Bone Health Foundations is designed for adults who want to take a proactive approach to their bone health. Whether your bone density is normal, you've been diagnosed with osteopenia, or you're living with osteoporosis, this program provides safe, evidence-informed guidance to help you build confidence and develop lifelong healthy movement habits.
Do I need previous yoga experience? Not at all. The program is suitable for beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners. Every movement will be taught step by step, with modifications to accommodate different abilities and comfort levels. I will teach beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for each pose
I have osteoporosis - is yoga safe for me? Yes—when practiced appropriately. One of the primary goals of this program is to teach you how to move safely and confidently. We emphasize proper alignment, gradual progression, and evidence-informed movement principles. You'll also learn which movements may need to be modified based on your individual situation.
Do I need a recent Dexa Scan? A recent DEXA scan is helpful but not required. If you have one, you'll be invited to upload it before the program begins so I can better understand your bone health. If you don't have one, you are still welcome to participate.
Will I need medical clearance? If you have osteoporosis, recent fractures, multiple medical conditions, or concerns about participating in exercise, I recommend discussing the program with your healthcare provider before beginning. Your safety is always my highest priority. I can give you the evidence based research to provide to your medical team
What if I can't get down to the floor? That's perfectly okay. Many poses can be modified using a chair, yoga blocks, wall, or other props. Throughout the program I'll demonstrate options so you can practice safely at your own level.
How much time will I need each day? The goal is to develop a sustainable daily habit. The guided home practices are designed to take approximately 15–20 minutes each, once in the morning and once in the evening. As your confidence grows, you may choose to extend your practice, but consistency is far more important than duration.
Why are there morning and evening practices? Emerging research suggests that appropriately spacing movement sessions throughout the day may provide additional benefits for bone loading. During the workshop you'll learn how to safely incorporate this approach into your daily routine.
How soon can I see the results? Bone Health Foundations is designed to help you begin building lifelong habits that support healthy bones, better balance, and confident movement. The four-week workshop provides the knowledge, skills, and guidance to get started, but lasting results come from consistent practice over time. Strong bones are built through daily choices—not overnight changes
What happens after 4 weeks? The four-week workshop is the beginning of your journey. At the end of the program, you'll have the opportunity to continue your progress through the Bone Strong Practice Club, where we'll continue practicing together, explore new topics, and support one another in maintaining lifelong bone health.
Will the sessions be recorded?? Yes. If you miss a live session, you'll have access to the recording so you can stay on track during the four-week journey
What equipment will I need?? You'll receive a complete equipment list before the workshop begins. Most participants will need: A yoga mat Two yoga blocks A yoga strap A sturdy chair A folded blanket or cushion Optional props and alternatives will also be discussed.
Finally - what's the most important thing you can do for your bones?? Stay engaged. The strongest predictor of long-term success isn't flexibility or fitness—it's consistency. Small, safe movements practiced regularly over months and years have a far greater impact than occasional bursts of intense exercise. My goal is not simply to teach you yoga. My goal is to help you develop a lifelong relationship with movement that supports strong bones, confident living, and lasting independence.
